Mellow sunshine haze and a laidback attitude are the epitome of Bali… that much goes without saying. This island has been back on the rise amongst world traveller destinations for the past few years and that can only mean an expected rise in world class accommodations to fit the demand. With a stunning mix of white washed architecture and high-level of service, O-CE-N Bali by Outrigger slides well into this position making their location the perfect spot for unabated relaxation.

Modernistic living, while maintaining equilibrium with traditional surroundings, seems to be the increasing theme as more and more hotels and villas sprout up in southern Bali. Yes, one can have the best of both worlds, and O-CE-N Bali does just that by being a stones throw from those picture postcard images of manicured beaches and swaying palm trees.

Set in the upscale district of Seminyak, with neighbouring Kuta just a few minutes down the beach, O-CE-N Bali is all about privacy while having the option to venture out and experience all the excitement Bali has to offer. The front lobby acts as a cove almost, escaping the noise and buzz from behind. Once through their doors though, towering apartments and a winding pool introduce a state of freedom from disturbance and seclusion.

The contemporary style combinations of natural stone and clean finished hotel rooms, suites, and penthouses provide a variety of sleeping options based on visitor’s needs. Large kitchens are included with 2-bedroom suites and up, while the penthouses are outfitted with sizable balconies and private Jacuzzi tubs, not to mention the skyline views of Legian Beach from below. Chic furnishings and fixtures for all rooms ooze in creamy white undertones, as open-plan living areas are an added perk as well.

Spa lovers will be delighted by O-CE-N Bali’s facilities also, their body and massage rituals ring out with titles such as Jasmine Javanese Lulur Therapy, Bali Coffee Body Scrub, and O-CE-N Two Therapists Massage to induce stress relief at just the mere sounds of it. Customized treatments, After Sun Hydrating Facial and Soothing Sunburn Therapy, are additional remedies that accompany established spa mainstays like Reflexology, Balinese Massage, and Deep Tissue Massage to name a few.

Dining in Bali can be an escapade all unto itself with the incredible amount of options in the vicinity, but once again O-CE-N Bali has two great choices already. The C Bistro & Lounge projects a more casual setting offering a modern menu including Mediterranean, Asian, and European cuisine while providing both outdoor and air-conditioned indoor dining. For something on the finer side of things, the Flying Fish is gaining a reputation as one of Bali’s best dinner restaurants by offering a selection of cooking styles from teppanyaki to Asian and European preparation styles. Even daily-delivered fresh seafood can be chosen by guests and served any style they choose.

As mentioned before, O-CE-N Bali is centered in the thick of things. If the strains and pressure of resort life are wearing you down then stepping outside is the perfect cure. Just about every water activity can be found along Legian Beach while shopping is no problem either, just stroll along Seminyak’s expansive boutiques for clothing and treasures you won’t find anywhere else in the world. As the largest all-apartment hotel in the area, O-CE-N Bali by Outrigger strikes gold when it comes to balancing modern service and unforgettable island life.

The Kayana has epitomized tropical comfort. With exceptional service and facilities, it is a beautifully designed little resort that encourages comfort and relaxation within the walls of your own private villas. In fact it is so pleasant at the Kayana, it’s tempting to stay up way beyond bedtime just to enjoy the peaceful ambience of the softly lit spaces, high ceilings, the deep bath or a midnight dip in your very own pool.

The facilities include the tranquil Ayur Spa. The creative use of space to forge intimate yet open areas, to give light and privacy, and comfort yet airiness is just the first of many smart things about this place. The two Balinese inspired spa rooms have their own steam room, Jacuzzi, bale, and double outdoor shower.

You can also enjoy leisurely lunches and romantic dinners, in addition to sandwiches and snacks, served in the privacy of your villa or within the relaxed ambience of our poolside restaurant. Our tempting à la Carte menu bursts with a wide range of international and Asian dishes together with local specialties. Breakfast served by your personal butler at your poolside Bale is just one of the treats you can look forward to. The service here is very personal and sincere, and you do get the impression that the staff really enjoy their work.

Furthermore, The Kayana is equipped with the expertise and the facilities to co-ordinate small private meetings, reception and weddings. The multi-purpose Function Room is centrally located for your convenience.

Consisting of 24 pool villas, gracefully arranged on either side of a tree-lined pathway, the style is classy, modern and minimalist with geometric lines and artistic flair, cleverly blending chic sophistication with the traditions of Bali. Each villa, with its fresh contemporary decor, is designed to provide peace and privacy, while being equipped with everything that you will need for your comfort and convenience. Each of the 24 villas is set within a private walled garden, complete with its own private pool or alternatively a plunge pool with a hot water facility. Furthermore, each villa presents an outdoor living and dining pavilion, a stylish bathroom with bathtub and shower. Air-conditioned bedrooms complete the picture. Each is equipped with a plasma satellite television, iPod and sound dock, safe deposit box, and a thoughtful array of amenities for your comfort and convenience.

Guests of The Villas Bali Hotel and Spa can now enjoy even greater comfort following the launch of an intensive renovation program, with re-landscaped garden areas, villa refurbishments and enhanced amenities in guest rooms. Renovations have been completed in all villas in December 2009. The renovations have been carried out at a time when many other hotels and villas are cutting costs and cancelling refurbishment programs.

“We remain committed to not just maintaining, but continually improving our guest experience,” said Mark de Jong, The Villas’ General Manager. “These extensive renovations provide the ultimate blend of traditional style and modern comforts for guests who wish to stay in the Original section, close to our award-winning Prana Spa, Prana Restaurant, Chill Reflexology, and the nearby dining and shopping district in Seminyak. “The newer Sunset section remains a popular choice with guests seeking a more secluded location. The beauty of all of our villas is that they are each completely private, self-contained and spacious, so that guests never have to leave if they do not want to. They can find total bliss in the sanctuary of their own villa and pool, surrounded by tropical gardens and Balinese hospitality,” Mark added.

The renovations of all our villas provide a fresh, sleek yet distinctly Balinese ambience. Each villa’s thatch-roof has been replaced, and in our 1-bedroom villas new wooden decking has been laid around the large mosaic-tiled pool. The new decking is accentuated by terrace-style flowerbeds and newly-refurbished sun beds on one side of the pool, and tropical vines creeping up the high wall on the other, ensuring complete privacy and security.

All our one, two and three bedroom villas open-air dining room and kitchen overlooking the pool and garden have been fitted with gleaming brand new amenities for guests’ private use as well as spectacular dinners cooked by a private chef. Microwaves have been added and the oven and stove, cooking equipment and utensils have all been replaced. In the bedrooms, the televisions have been replaced by flat-screen LG TVs, and are now accompanied by LG DVD players. Previously, DVD players were provided upon request. The new TVs increase the number of channels available from 48 to 60, featuring shows from around the world. Adding to the above is of course the wi-fi internet connections provided in every villa, which is a feature with continuous improvements.

The bathrooms are sleeker and lighter. The décor enhancements include new woven wooden boxes covering the mirror lighting, new wooden frames for the mirrors, and new wooden doors to close off the storage areas below the vanity, which were previously open shelves. The showerheads have also been replaced. All villas throughout the property have also had their air-conditioning systems replaced, and new hair-dryers installed in their bathrooms.

“We take genuine pleasure in providing a rewarding holiday experience for our guests, and this renovation program will ensure our property continues to provide the standard of service and facilities for which we are known,” said Mr Mark.

Located on the vibrant island of Bali, Banyan Tree Ungasan promises panoramic ocean views, effortless rejuvenation and unforgettable cultural discoveries. Perched 70 metres above sea level on the cliff-top of the island’s southernmost peninsula, the resort offers stunning vistas of the Indian Ocean from its in-villa infinity pools, which are arguably the most expansive in Bali. Banyan Tree Ungasan features 73 individual pool villas and is scheduled to welcome its first guests by the end of 2009.

Be the first to enjoy the Ungasan Unveils package, a delightful sojourn which offers one complimentary night with minimum two consecutive nights’ stay. The package includes breakfast at Bambu Restaurant and return airport limousine transfers for two people. For stays of four nights and above, guests will also enjoy a complimentary four-course set dinner at Ju-Ma-Na restaurant. This introductory offer starts at US$620++ per night for a Pool Villa and is valid for reservations and stays from 15 December 2009 to 31 March 2010 (dates inclusive).

Resort Lifestyle for the Discerning
Banyan Tree Ungasan is 35 minutes by car from Ngurah Rai International Airport and the thriving beaches of Kuta, Seminyak and Sanur. Designed to offer absolute privacy and seclusion, its lofty perch on Bali’s serene southern coast over a unique coral beach allows guests to experience Bali at their own pace, while cocooned with the luxuries of time and space in their own private villas.

All 73 spacious pool villas are set in their own lush landscaped garden with outdoor jet pool, marble bathroom with sunken baths, and a Balinese balé (outdoor pavilion). The highlight of each villa is the generously-sized private infinity pool, which starts from 10 metres in length and is perched on the cliff-edge overlooking the horizon. Carefully selected furnishings combine contemporary design with touches of Balinese artistry.

Ideal for couples, families and friends, each of the 11 Two-bedroom Villas and three triple-bedroom Presidential Villas features a 12-metre and 25-metre-long infinity pool respectively. Featuring expansive living areas and landscape garden, guests can enjoy private celebrations within the intimate surrounds of the Sanctuary Villas and Presidential Villas; the Presidential Villa also comes with a dedicated spa treatment room and dedicated fitness area.

Dining takes centre stage at Banyan Tree Ungasan, thanks to the bounty of fresh produce and melting pot of flavours and techniques that tropical Bali is blessed with. Guests will be able to take their pick from three stellar restaurants. Ju-Ma-Na restaurant, which means ‘silver pearl’ in Arabic, will offer gourmet menus specialising in seafood. Observe the chefs at work in the display kitchen, or opt for the dramatic cliff-edge scenery, a superb setting for the excellent cuisine. The adjacent Ju-Ma-Na Bar offers sundowners along with Arabic finger food and Moroccan shishas (water pipes). Tamarind, set in the tranquil surroundings of the Banyan Tree Spa, will serve a variety of organic dishes, alongside a menu of Jamu herbal drinks, and Bambu will present popular international and local specialties.

Complement this idyllic retreat with an indulgent spa experience at the award-winning Banyan Tree Spa. Guests can experience signature treatments delivered by professional spa therapists, trained at the exclusive Banyan Tree Spa Academy in Phuket, Thailand. Designed to reflect Indonesian healing traditions and incorporating the use of natural, indigenous ingredients unique to Indonesia, signature treatments at Banyan Tree Spa Ungasan include traditional Indonesian treatments, Ayurvedic treatments and Rainmist therapies.

Practiced in the palaces of Central Java since the 17th century, the 180-minute Javanese Lulur treatment package includes imperial treatments used by Javanese brides as a purifying ritual before marriage, and includes the Serenity Massage, Lulur Scrub, and Honey Avocado Conditioner. Aching muscles are soothed and skin restored to its natural balance with the 180-minute Balinese Boreh treatment session designed for gentlemen. Featuring the Balinese Massage, a deep tissue massage which stimulates blood circulation, improves energy flow and relieves tension, guests will also enjoy a relaxing face and head massage, the Boreh Wrap and the Carrot Body Scrub which nourish and cleanse the skin.

Complete the spa experience with a refreshing yoga session, guided by a trained yoga instructor within an indoor yoga pavilion or outdoors, amidst the panoramic views of the ocean.

Executive meeting groups are hosted in style, with flexible function rooms that allow for seating and table arrangements, from banquets for up to 120 persons, and cocktail receptions for up to 200.

Balinese Renaissance
Banyan Tree Ungasan can also arrange small-group cultural tours for guests around Bali. One of the highlights is a fully immersive cultural tour, with options to embark on unforgettable excursions to handicraft villages, painters’ homes, museums, ancient Hindu temples, and pastoral sights such as rice paddy terraces and plantations growing vanilla, chocolate, coffee, cloves and even wine grapes.

Nearby attractions include the sacred Pura Luhur Uluwatu Temple and Ungasan Village, which will be the site of delightful cultural excursions exclusively available for resort guests to immerse themselves in the ways and traditions of the Balinese. The chauffeured drive from the airport to the resort is the beginning of the journey, as traditional village scenery sets the ambiance for a magical stay.

Banyan Tree Ungasan’s best available rates start from USD$535++ per night in a Pool Villa, inclusive of daily breakfast for two people. For stays of three nights and above, guests will enjoy one complimentary 90-minute Banyan Tree Spa massage session. Please call the resort directly at +62 361 300 7000, email ungasan@banyantree.com or log on to banyantree.com for reservations and inquiries.
